Ashford Cup report - 18th May 2025
A brilliant performance from all rinks today, it was so nearly all 12 points, only prevented by the skips last wood on rink 11.
We were down at the halfway stage by 2 rinks to 4, but some great bowling from the 4 losing rinks in the last 10 ends turned the tide, well done for digging in and staying calm.
The 2 rinks winning at the halfway stage were always in control thanks to some steady bowling right from the first end, a great performance on an away green.
Everyone showed great maturity today which hopefully should help us next week, which will test everyone on a very fast green, compared to today.
WELL DONE TO EVERYONE, especially the reserves for travelling and supporting the team. thank you

What a great day for Group 6
An 8-4 win against our nearest rivals and played on their green
Once again a great second half to the game, with rinks that were well behind coming back to share the points and rinks in front, keeping it tight to get over the line.
We are now in a great position going into the final game, with our destiny in our own hands, on our home green.
We will test the strength of our squad next week with all the 'available' reserves playing in the final game.

Ashford Cup report - 1st June 2025
A very disappointing day for Group 6
Apart from a couple of our rinks who seemed to find the line and weight ok, the majority of the team struggled.
We didn't get off to the best of starts and the longer the game went on, our confidence seemed to drain away and you could see that lack of confidence in picking the right line to bowl when the players were standing on the mat.
We get it right more times than we get it wrong, we just have to try again next year.
Our thanks should go to the three bowlers who have bowled in their last Ashford Cup game: -
